Guilty Until Proven Innocent: SLO County Expands Orwellian Nanny/Police State
SoCal Martial Law Alerts

SAN LUIS OBISPO, California — As if it weren’t bad enough that San Luis Obispo County Sheriff candidate elect, Ian Parkinson, and his former opponent, Joe Cortez, openly admitted on public access TV during the 2010 General Election campaign that the county’s law enforcement officers routinely violate the due process rights of the people whom they arrest for the sake of convenience (see California Penal Code Section 849(a)):

SCMLA Questions SLO County Sheriff’s Candidates 9/29/10

On December 1, 2010, the City of San Luis Obispo Police Department (SLOPD) began publishing the full name and mugshot of each and every person who was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) on SLOPD’s Facebook account:

Not one of these people have been convicted of any crime and yet their photographs and real names are now publicly available on Facebook, which makes it ridiculously easy to find additional personal information on those who have been arrested and to permanently damage their reputations, not to mention that it opens the City of San Luis Obispo up to possible defamation suits:

“Defamation. Holding up of a person to ridicule, scorn or contempt in a respectable and considerable part of the community; may be criminal as well as civil. Includes both libel and slander.” — Black’s Law Dictionary, Fifth Edition

In yet another Orwellian turn of the screw, SLOPD announced on November 30, 2010 that law enforcement officers would be “contacting drivers with good driving habits” over the holidays in order to “say thanks for making our streets a lot safer.” According to SLOPD, the “thank you” would be in the form of a certificate for a “free holiday turkey” from Food-4-Less Supermarket.

“So now i can be ‘contacted’ (pulled over) for not only breaking the laws but following them as well?” — Steven Conroy, Facebook user

So, let’s see if we understand this. We are now living in a Nanny/Police State where:

Good drivers get the turkey award?

And (alleged) bad drivers get their name in lights?

Creeping Martial Law
SoCal Martial Law Alerts
December 27, 2010

Most people in the patriot community thought that there would be a spectacularly-defining moment (like 9/11, except much worse) and that THEN they would know FOR SURE that it was time to head for the hills.

But it’s not playing out like that.

What we have here is a creeping 1984 / Stasi state — just like creeping crud — being implemented slow and easy so that you’ll go along with it nice and easy (and so that the sleepyheads will stay in denial).

It’s being implemented just like the incremental evacuation of the Gulf coast over time:

Methane and Martial Law in the Gulf of Mexico
Oil Industry Insider and CFR Member Predicts Gulf Evacuation
CATEGORY 5 ALERT! Katrina-Trained FEMA Planning Forced Evacuations

Many of you joined SoCal Martial Law Alerts so that you would know when martial law was declared.

Well, it’s here.

Being implemented “precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little, that they may go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.” (That’s Isaiah 28:13 for those of you who want to go and read it in context.)

Now that you know where we are, what are YOU going to DO about it?

Things are not bad enough to head for the hills (yet). By the time it gets to that point, it will be too late. You will already be acclimated to it (and so will everyone else) and will willingly go along with it (just like everyone else).

If you’re the head-for-the-hills type, then you may as well go now, because if you continue to wait for THE REALLY BIG EVENT, then, by the time THAT happens, your way of escape may already be cut off.

If you’re a stand-and-fight type, then you should ALREADY be fighting and, right now, it’s still an infowar. Shout from the rooftops. Tell family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, church members the truth about what’s happening. Non-violent resistance. Ghandi-style civil disobedience. We have the tools from history. Let’s use them.

Else be led like sheep to the slaughter.

Propaganda from the Pulpit: Government Talking Points
SoCal Martial Law Alerts
November 14, 2010

“Government Talking Points” is the first installment in a series of short videos, which illustrate the history of government infiltration into church administration, teaching, etc.

Historical points covered in this installment include:

  • “Clergy Response Team” program under INFRAGUARD (an FBI program) as reported by KSLA;
  • African-American churches promoting abortion and eugenics under the auspices of Rockefeller-funded Planned Parenthood;
  • Jesse Jackson selling out to the Democratic Party in order to facilitate his Presidential run;
  • A pastor who trained Russian defectors during the Cold War under a CIA program;
  • A CIA letter-writing campaign using New York’s Catholic churches and Italian-American communities to turn political opinion against Italy’s communist party;
  • An Ohio pastor exposes an allegedly-independent survey of non-denominational pastors, which assesses said pastors leadership abilities; he also tells of a pastor friend who received federal funds in order to start a church of his own;
  • Radio host, Alex Jones, discusses his parents’ Methodist church and its sudden and dramatic change in political leanings.

A University of North Carolina student pays fellow student Folabomi Oladosu for a snack and an energy drink with his UNC One Card.

“The U.S. dollar is dead. There … I’ve said it.” — Christopher Barker

“To put it bluntly, the dollar’s days are numbered and its demise is inevitable.” — Vasko Kohlmayer

“This summer a major point happened in the history of money. The first concrete sign was seen, that the end is coming to actual coins and cash.” — Tomi Ahonen

With economists, political pundits, free thinkers and, oh heck, anyone with half a brain not tied behind their back declaring and decrying the certain death of the dollar …

And with some even saying that money itself is dead …

What, oh what, are we to do?

False-Flag Cyber Attack = Cyber Patriot Act

“There’s going to be an i-9/11 event. Which … means an event where the instability, or the insecurity, of the Internet becomes manifest during a malicious event, which then inspires the government into a response ….

“So I was having dinner with Richard Clarke and I asked him if there is an equivalent [to the Patriot Act]; is there an i-Patriot Act just sitting waiting for some substantial event as an excuse to radically change the way the Internet works. He said ‘Of course there is.'” — Lawrence Lessig, Law Professor, Stanford [emphasis added]

According to the Telegraph, this same Richard Clarke, former counter-terrorism czar under Presidents Clinton and Bush Sr., also said:

“The US must prepare itself for a full-scale cyber attack which could cause death and destruction across the country in less than 15 minutes … “

To illustrate this dire “electronic Pearl Harbor” scenario, the Telegraph further paraphrases Clarke’s latest book, “Cyber War: The Next National Security Threat”:

” … the problems start with the collapse of one of Pentagon’s computer networks.

“Soon Internet service providers are in meltdown. Reports come in of large refinery fires and explosions in Philadelphia and Houston. Chemical plants malfunction, releasing lethal clouds of chlorine.

“Air traffic controllers report several mid-air collisions, while subway trains crash in New York, Washington and Los Angeles. More than 150 cities are suddenly blacked out. Tens of thousands of Americans die in an attack comparable to a nuclear bomb in its devastation.

“Yet it would take no more than 15 minutes and involve not a single terrorist or soldier setting foot in the United States.”

Clarke’s “Cyber War” co-author and Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) senior member, Robert Knake, further explained:

“We must have the ability to turn off our connection to the Internet and still be able to continue to operate. Relying on a system as precarious as the Internet is a big mistake.”

In his 2009 analysis of the ubiquitous cyber-terror hype, Boston Review writer, Evgeny Morozov, said:

” … because the back-end infrastructure underlying our economy (national and global) is now digitized, it is subject to new risks. Fifty years ago it would have been hard — perhaps impossible, short of nuclear attack — to destroy a significant chunk of the U.S. economy in a matter of seconds; today all it takes is figuring out a way to briefly disable the computer systems that run VISA, MasterCard and American Express. Fortunately, such massive disruption is unlikely to happen anytime soon … “

Well, not anytime soon unless they make it happen. Remember, there’s still that small detail of the crashing U.S. economy and the death of the U.S. dollar that needs to be dealt with, covered up, used and / or exploited …

Because as former White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, so famously said:

“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is: An opportunity to do things that you didn’t think you could do before.”

So here you have it: 1) Problem; 2) Reaction, and; 3) Solution. The Hegelian Dialectic. The “problem” is the alleged “instability” and / or the “insecurity” of the Internet coupled with the sad fact of our unstable economy, both of which will most likely come apart at the seams if and / or when the Internet is subject to cyber attack. The “reaction” from the people to such a cyber attack, as always, will be for the government to fix the problem(s) stat. The government will then leap up and unveil a pre-packaged “solution” to the cyber / monetary crisis, which will undoubtedly involve oppressive, dictatorial-like control over the Internet, cash-card payment systems and implementation of an online national ID coupled with RFID (i.e. radio-frequency identification).

Even more disturbing, the last two items (cash card and national ID) will most likely be one and the same — if not at first, then soon, soon and very soon.

Cyber ID = Cyber Tracking

Now enter the federal government’s obsession with standardized identification.

Consider for a moment Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12): An order signed by President Bush Jr. in 2004, which “mandates a federal standard for secure and reliable forms of identification,” — a policy which ostensibly applies to “federal employees and contractors” only.

Next consider this month’s “demonstration” called “Autumn Blend,” where DHS, FEMA, the Pentagon, the Air Force, other federal, state, local and private emergency personnel (from multiple states) and private high-tech identity and security companies all gathered together at Northrop Grumman’s shipbuilding facility in McLean, Virginia to show the federal government just how well they’ve complied with HSPD-12:

“As participants’ identities were cleared and individuals permitted access to the demonstration venue, Virginia’s Interoperability Picture for Emergency Response (VIPER) geospatial application tracked and displayed their actions in near real-time at fusion centers and emergency operations centers throughout the United States.” [emphasis added]

Isn’t that special?

While Rome is burning (i.e. while the dollar is dying, the economy is tanking and people everywhere are losing everything) the federal government is fiddling around fine-tuning their ability to identify all their worker bees during an “emergency” … And now, icing on cake, they’re crowing about their ability to track everyone who wears one of these nifty, “standardized” IDs.

Think this only applies to “federal employees and contractors”?

Well, think again. Employees at all levels of government and even private-sector vendors were forced tocomply with HSPD-12 during “Autumn Blend.” This is how it works in the real world: The feds / military / big business set the standard and then everyone / everywhere must comply, or face the specter of being forced out of the economic system entirely.

“Wal-Mart played a key role in the implementation of the Universal Product Code (UPC) … when it required suppliers to track inventory using those barcodes. Now, Wal-Mart and the [DoD] have mandated their vendors to utilize RFID … With the help of the [DoD], RFID becomes the de facto standard for product identification world-wide. The exact same logic applies to the identification of human beings. If Wal-Mart begins to require any particular personal ID format, the rest of the world is soon to follow.” — Ken Raggio, Editor, Endtime Magazine [emphasis added]

Raggio is also quick to point out that Wal-Mart’s “corporate policies … eventually become de facto international law.”

In spite of (or maybe because of?) the fact that the states have been dragging their feet with regard to implementing REAL ID, the White House has been pushing very hard to create a high-tech “identity ecosystem.” This system, though “voluntary” at first, will eventually force anyone and everyone who does business online to accept a national online identity number, which will then be linked to a centralized database where all of one’s sensitive identity information will be kept.

News flash: Without this federally-mandated identity number, you will not be able to buy, nor sell, nor surf, nor search, nor do anything that you would normally do on the Internet.

Avisian editor, Zack Martin, sums up the “draft strategy” for the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC) this way:

“Create a system that individuals can use to login to a bank account, check email or keep track of research topics of interest. Give it a catchy name like ‘identity ecosystem’ and expect it to secure all transactions while at the same time providing anonymity … Find an efficient way to protect individuals online whether they are engaged in the most secure task or the most benign.”

Yes, you read that right:

All your identifying information (passwords and everything!) and all your transactions (including research!) will be kept in one conveniently hackable and trackable place by the federal government (for your own protection, of course!)

Feel safer now?

According to Martin, the new Presidential directive implementing NSTIC “will be similar, possibly even an amendment to … HSPD-12.”

He also stated that “subsequent credentialing efforts and this extension to the citizen are all logical outgrowth from this early program” and that “some government insiders say extending a [Personal Identity Verification]-type infrastructure to the public only makes sense.” [emphasis added]

In plain English, here’s what they’re really talking about:

A national ID.

Online.

You know, in that extremely “unstable,” “insecure” and “precarious” virtual environment that is forever and always under cyber-threat and cyber-attack (according to the self-same government that wants to implement NSTIC!)

To sum: Putting all your identity “eggs” in one online “basket” is frighteningly akin to putting your newborn baby in the middle of a battlefield. Who in their right mind would do such a thing?

Cyber ID + Cyber Everything = The New Cash

“A race is on, not unlike the race to the moon and we will see if the United States can catch up with the rest of the planet when it comes to identity credentials.” — Salvatore D’Agostino, IDMachines

“Almost ALL the nations of the world now have a single, comprehensive national identification system … almost without exception, countries are moving at break-neck speeds to implement ID systems that are far more sophisticated than they have been historically. The United States is one of the last countries to get a compulsory national ID, mostly because it has been the land of the free and the home of the brave. But that has changed.” — Ken Raggio, Editor, Endtime Magazine

Precise Biometrics announced in an October 5, 2010 press release:

“The Cross River State is the first Nigerian state to implement biometric technology and combine authentication and payment in a state-wide ‘Smartcity’ card. The state ID card program is the first of its kind in the world and a breakthrough for Precise Biometrics on the African continent. In the coming years, all citizens in Cross River State, close to 3 million people, will be issued a card. More Nigerian and African States are expected to follow the market development with biometric ID and payment cards.” [emphasis added]

Apparently this lucrative “race to the moon” also causes identity companies such as Precise Biometrics to overstate their claims, since both Malaysia and Brunei have had multi-purpose national ID cards for at least five years now. Their “smart cards” function as: National ID, passport, driver’s license, ATM card, travel card, medical records, online ID, biometrics (i.e. iris and fingerprints) and birth certificate.

Get the picture? We’ve got third-world countries leading the world in high-tech national IDs that do everything except wash the family dog. Facetiously speaking, these cards do: “Cyber everything.”

Think it’ll be tough to force the privacy-loving U.S. of A. to go cashless? Think again, because we’ve got a nation full of kids who’ve been learning firsthand how to navigate the cashless society by virtue of attending cashless schools.

“You’ve got kids coming to campus who’ve been using cards and accounts since junior high.” — Chris Corum, Editor, CR80News.com

“In the beginning, a ‘cashless’ campus meant student IDs doubled as a meal ticket and maybe a debit card at the college bookstore. Today, those student ID cards open doors to dorms and labs, earn discounts with local merchants, sub-in for loose change at vending and copy machines, and even help with the laundry. Welcome to the cashless campus.” — Dana Dratch, CreditCards.com

The college ID of today is used to pay for cafeteria meals, snacks, laundry, photocopies, off-campus purchases and some cards are even tied to local bank accounts and carry a VISA, or MasterCard logo.

Even more alarming, some primary schools have dispensed with ID cards altogether and use finger-scanning technology instead.

You might balk, but, given the chance to obtain a national ID card that can do “cyber everything,” America’s pre-conditioned kids and young adults will jump feet first.

Gives a whole new meaning to: “Ihre Papiere, bitte,” doesn’t it?

Because when someone in this brave new cyber world asks to see your multi-purpose cyber ID — a card which you absolutely must have in order to “buy or sell” (a la Revelation 13:17) and which holds the keys to your entire life in cyberspace — it should at least give you pause, if not chills of horror.

Lindsey Williams: Keep Your Eyes On Russia and China October 21, 2010

Lindsey Williams: Keep Your Eyes On Russia and China
SoCal Martial Law Alerts
October 21, 2010

Today former Alaska pipeline chaplain, Lindsey Williams, appeared on the Alex Jones show and detailed the latest inside information from his oil-industry source who is dying from terminal cancer. Topics covered by Williams included: The latest on the financial collapse; the likelihood of martial law (especially in the aftermath of a cyber attack); the certainty of war with Iran, and; persecution of the church.

According to Williams’ source, the dollar is going to have a quick and accelerated death with the complete phasing out of the dollar by 2012. Accelerating this process even further is the new oil and natural gas agreement between Russia and China, which does not have a dollar amount on it, because the two countries are no longer brokering gas deals in dollars. Since Russia and China have started the trend away from using dollars, Williams said, this will lead other nations to abandon the dollar as well. Also along these lines, Williams warned that crude oil shall once again go to $150-$200 per barrel like it did in mid-2008. This will result in $4-$5 per gallon gasoline and will further grind the already-depressed economy to a complete halt. By 2012, Williams further elaborated, nearly everyone in America will be working for the government, because they’ll be the only employer around.

Meanwhile, on Wall Street, insider trading has quadrupled in less than three weeks with insider trading in mid-September being at 400 to 1 (400 insider trades to 1 public trade) and then jumped sharply in the first week of October to 1600 to 1. In short, Williams said, corporate America’s CEOs are cashing out en masse.

On Main Street, however, the mortgage crisis is picking up steam and preparing to fully crush our entire financial system along with undermining all property rights, both residential and commercial. As Williams articulated, the elite planned this crisis back in the 1980s and created the Mortgage Backed Securities (deriviatives) scam. In other words, since the banks have sold and re-sold mortgages over and over again, the titles to most properties are not free and clear. As a result, even though “homeowners” have mortgaged their houses, these houses’ official ownership will be in question for many years to come. In the meantime, banks are fraudulently foreclosing on properties they have no right to. Moreover, as Alex Jones added, there is a bill that has passed Congress (and remains unsigned by President Obama), which will allow banks to seize even paid-for properties that they do not have title to. The mortgage crisis is now fully coming to light and some academics have put the total amount of the fraud as high as $45 trillion. The “solution,” Williams elaborated, will be that the banking system will require another $2-$7 trillion bailout and full government regulation/ownership of all property everywhere. In summary, Jones added, the Federal government will own every property in the country that ever had a mortgage.

Williams also gave a brief update on the BP oil spill by saying that the well had been capped, but the full extent of the disaster has been, and will continue to be, hidden from the American public. The disaster will have a lasting effect, he said.

William’s source also warned that the war with Iran is certain to happen and will start in the next 4-5 months. The elite really want a conflict in the Middle East, he said. Other tidbits covered included the announcement today by Janet Napolitano that the Department of Homeland Security is deeply concerned about a “cyber attack” on America. Meanwhile, Congress is forcing through Internet “kill-switch” legislation.

It’s interesting to note that all of Williams’ inside information is appearing at a time when the “info war” is transitioning into a “cyber war” and the elite are openly beginning implementation of their endgame to: Depopulate the entire planet; bring in world government, and; establish their one-world religion in which Christians and other monotheists will be considered the enemy.

ET Rising: Alien Psyops on the Rise
SoCal Martial Law Alerts
October 12, 2010

The aliens have landed.

Crash landed.

No, really. They did. And if you don’t believe it, just ask the kids at Sandford Primary School in the UK.

Or rather, just ask the children who were led to believe that aliens had crash-landed at their school in a joint exercise which was staged by their teachers and local police.

“The children didn’t know what was going on,” said teacher and organizer, Victoria Shepherd. “As they approached the crash site we could see how amazed and perplexed they were. It was a fantastic first reaction.”

The alien crash-landings, which have been staged at other schools throughout the UK, are allegedly designed to “encourage the children’s imaginations” in order to “help them with their literacy skills.”

But, at an alien crash-landing staged at Lanchester Endowed Parochial Primary in February 2009, the school’s headteacher, Jane Davis, admitted that the incident “really sparked their imagination. Some of the children told us they’d seen the crash landing, while others said they’d seen an alien.”

Of the staged crash, nine-year-old student, Oliver Bartle-Smith said, “During the night I’d heard a big bang, like a gunshot, but it must have been when the spaceship crashed. I was closing my curtains when I saw some slights [sic] and a dark circular object in the sky.”

Police Constable and parent, Gary Densham, who also participated in the staged event, said, “The older pupils were asking questions about the crash site, like whether it was safe, but the younger children were convinced they’d seen the crash happen. Their imaginations were brilliant.”

A July 2009 “alien landing” — which was meant to “develop writing skills” and “fire imagination” — instead resulted in terrorizing the children when they saw one of their teachers being dragged off by an “alien.” A parent of one of the children said, “My daughter was deeply upset by it all and came home looking shell shocked. She wasn’t sure what had happened and really wanted to know that everything was going to be all right.”

In an online “case study” of an Everybody Writes Alien Landing project (which allegedly occurred at “New Milton Junior School” and yet lifts quotes directly from the Sandford Primary School alien landing article), teacher Tom Chappell asserts that “believability in the alien crash landing site was key for the project to be successful … ” and, in the “Outcomes” section, he admits that:

“For the rest of the term, aliens and alien-based subjects have infused the school’s topic based learning, including activities such as: A Men In Black dance, an alien treasure hunt, alien art using paint, looking at the Easter story, creating a piece of music to communicate with the alien, and in Science, looking at solids and liquids and reversible/irreversible changes (with reference to the alien ice egg).”

Perhaps the stage was set for the terrorizing of schoolchildren in May 2008, when Vatican Observatory Director, Jose Gabriel Funes, said in an interview titled “The Alien is my Brother” that there is no contradiction between his belief in the Catholic faith and belief in aliens:

“I think there isn’t (a contradiction). Just as there is a multiplicity of creatures over the earth, so there could be other beings, even intelligent (beings), created by God. This is not in contradiction with our faith, because we cannot establish limits to God’s creative freedom. To say it with St. Francis, if we can consider some earthly creatures as ‘brothers’ or ‘sisters,’ why could we not speak of a ‘brother alien’? He would also belong to the creation.”

Funes alien comments also inspired a five-day, Vatican-sponsored conference in November 2009 which focused on the new field of “astrobiology” (i.e. the study of extra-terrestrial life) and featured 30 scientists from around the world representing fields such as: astronomy, physics and biology. Funes was also in attendance.

Fast-forward to now, suddenly, when we have the following alien-related news stories and events cropping up in rapid-fire succession:

  • July 2010: China shuts down Xiaoshan Airport due to a UFO sighting
  • August 2010: Book release: “UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go On The Record”
  • September 2010: Air Force officers claim alien monitoring/tampering nuclear missiles
  • September 2010: Discovery of a habitable planet similar to Earth

Also in September 2010, the Vatican’s astronomer, Guy Consolmagno, said that he would love to “baptize an alien” and the United Nations announced that their head of Office for Outer Space Affairs, Mazlan Othman, is creating the position of “Space Ambassador” (i.e. someone to “officially” greet our alien “visitors”).

This along with the release of a new book from former Air Force officer, Stanley A. Fulham, entitled “Challenges of Change,” in which the date of October 13, 2010 is given as a possible time for a massive UFO display across major cities around the world. Of course, when one discovers that Fulham openly admits that he is getting his information from an unnamed NORAD intelligence officer and 43,000 spirit guides … And when one discovers that this ominous “October 13” date has been bandied about for at least two years now …

It’s difficult to lend Fulham’s information any credibility other than the indisputable fact that there sure have been a lot of alien psyops floating around these days.

SCMLA Throws Hardball Questions at SLO County Sheriff’s Candidates
SoCal Martial Law Alerts
September 29, 2010

SAN LUIS OBISPO, California — At a recent Sheriff Candidate’s Forum held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in San Luis Obispo, California, SoCal Martial Law Alerts (SCMLA) asked the tough questions of two candidates running for Sheriff, Ian Parkinson and Joe Cortez.

SCMLA Questions SLO County Sheriff’s Candidates 9/29/10

The Forum, which was broadcast live on local radio, consisted entirely of audience questions directed toward the two Sheriff’s candidates. Audience members submitted questions on 3 X 5 index cards, which were then vetted by League of Women Voters volunteers. Of the 35 questions asked of the Sheriff’s candidates — most of which were softball questions — SCMLA managed to throw five hardballs.

The five questions SCMLA managed to get past the censors:

  • Are you aware, according to code, that an arresting officer is supposed to take an arrested person directly to a magistrate before taking them to jail?
  • President Bush signed a law that in the event of a national emergency the President can assume control of law enforcement. This went through the Department of Homeland Security. How would you seek to maintain local control when the federal government would seek to direct the Sheriff’s department?
  • What’s your opinion on an incident that took place in 2008 where deputies responded to a shots-fired call and eventually opened a locked safe and confiscated several guns. The opening of the safe was done without a search warrant. Can you comment on this please?
  • My question is regarding abusive searches and seizures. As evidenced by the previous leadership, some deputies either knowingly, or unknowingly, followed orders that were illegal. How would you seek to train deputies to recognize Constitutional and unconstitutional orders?
  • How would you seek to protect citizens privacy with regard to DNA databases?

Please note on Question One that both candidates admit to breaking the laws regarding due process for the sake of convenience.

Also worth noting: SCMLA’s five questions had not been asked of the Sheriff’s candidates during previous Forums, so the candidates were not able to give pat, or practiced answers. This became most apparent with the PDD-51 question, which candidate Cortez completely avoided answering and instead gave a rather cryptic treatise on the importance of titles, especially his.

The forum was sponsored by the League of Women Voters and the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Advisory Council. There were about 150 people in attendance.

California’s Unconstitutional Checkpoints Roll On Unchecked
SoCal Martial Law Alerts
September 10, 2010

SANTA MARIA, California — Santa Maria Police Department conducted yet another unconstitutional and illegal DUI / Driver’s license checkpoint as part of California Office of Traffic Safety’s (OTS) “Year of the Checkpoint” campaign for 2010.

The Santa Maria checkpoint was only one of more than 2500 (ostensibly) OTS-funded checkpoints which are due to be carried out within the state of California during 2010.

(Following the money trail, the funding actually traces back to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which is an agency under the federal Department of Transportation (DOT), which is a cabinet position under the President of the United States.)

If OTS’s “Year of the Checkpoint” campaign is successfully carried out, then California drivers will endure more than 208 of these unconstitutional / illegal checkpoints per month.

“To my knowledge, California conducts more checkpoints than any other state,” said OTS Director Christopher J. Murphy.

While DUI checkpoints were officially (if unconstitutionally) sanctioned by the Supreme Court’s Michigan vs. Sitz case, driver’s license checkpoints were not.

A quick survey of police department websites also reveals that most DUI / sobriety checkpoints are dual purpose; that is, police officers regularly check for driver’s licenses in addition to checking for driver impairment.

Also problematic is the fact that, although DUI / sobriety checkpoints are routinely trumpeted in the press as an effective means of reducing traffic deaths, the unvarnished truth is that driver’s license checkpoints are far more lucrative for cash-strapped law enforcement agencies than checking for drunks.

According to Ryan Gabrielson, a public safety reporter for CaliforniaWatch.org, “Sobriety checkpoints in California are increasingly turning into profitable operations for local police departments that are far more likely to seize cars from unlicensed motorists than catch drunken drivers.”

In addition, this most recent Santa Maria checkpoint violated California’s Ingersoll guidelines for DUI / sobriety checkpoints in that drivers were not allowed an opportunity to avoid the checkpoint completely, as the video shows.

Unfortunately, although driver’s license checkpoints are not legal according to case law (and many checkpoints tend to violate the guidelines set up for them), most drivers are unaware of these facts and so the practice continues unabated and unchallenged by the court system.

Buying the Lie: Cash is Dead September 2, 2010

Buying the Lie: Cash is Dead
SoCal Martial Law Alerts
September 2, 2010

Get used to the idea: Cash is dead.

And if you don’t believe it, just ask such cashless giants as PayPal, MasterCard and Visa. At the very least, they are working overtime with slick propaganda to make us think so.

Currently on Maestro’s website (“Maestro” is the name of MasterCard’s UK-based debit card) is a slide show where you can see the following pithy slogans flash past:

DON’T SHOW ME THE MONEY.

LEAVE CASH ON THE SHELF.

MONEY WITHOUT THE HEADACHE.

BURGER & FRIES WITHOUT ALL THE POUNDS.

Billing their card as “The New Cash,” Maestro’s FAQ page explains that:

“Your Maestro card is linked to your bank account, and the amount of your purchases is deducted directly from that account.”

Just like a debit card. But with the subtle implication being that all digital dollars are “the new cash.” And you want to be trendy, don’t you?

According to Corvida Raven, a “SheGeek” who attended PayPal’s Innovate 09 developer conference:

“There was a very interesting theme that PayPal presented to attendees: cash is dead. Not really, but PayPal seems to think that cash is overrated and inefficient. At the end of the day, digital dollars should rule the world.”

Echoing this idea, Becta, a UK-based technology, news and analysis service, made the following predictions in a March 2010 report:

“Cash is expensive to handle and cheques are due to be phased out in the UK in 2018.”

“Not only are cheques due to be phased out, but cash is considered by some likely to follow soon after …. The latest developments in mobile technology could support a movement towards the cashless society.”

On a much tighter timeline, a 2007 article titled Cashless society by 2012 has Peter Ayliffe, CEO of VISA Europe, saying that:

“Paying for goods with notes and coins could be consigned to history within five years.”

From the information presented, you may have noticed that, up until now, there has been a much more overt push toward cashless technology in Europe than there has been here? That might be because there are a large number of Christians in America who get nervous whenever they hear about payment systems involving chips, numbers and fingerprints:

“And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.” — Revelation 13:16 – 18, King James Bible

And since Christians believe that anyone who receives this mark / name / number is eternally doomed, there is ample motivation for Christian consumers to resist any payment technology that appears to be headed down the road in that direction.

The downside for us here is that, while the rest of the world enjoys and fully implements their cashless payment toys and applications, we still suffer under the illusion that it could never happen here. Indeed, most Americans still think we’re in a mild economic downturn from which we might actually recover.

While we were sleeping, PayPal put out the call for software developers to come up with a gaggle of nifty, sci-fi payment technologies:

Take especial note of the young man paying for his movie tickets with his right thumb. (And all you conspiracy theorists: Pay no attention to that capstone-less pyramid in the background — it’s a coinkydink!)

Notice, too, that the young man left his thumbprint behind on the glass after making his PayPal payment. When asked by World Net Daily about using fingerprints as a form of identification, privacy advocate, Katherine Albrecht, countered:

“Why would you pick something [for security purposes] that you leave everywhere?”

“We’re extremely opposed to it. Of all forms of security, fingerprints are perhaps the least secure.”

As proven by Japanese researcher, Tsutomu Matsumoto, fingerprints can easily be filched, faked and forged. So who in their right mind would ever use them?! Even security guru, Bruce Schneier, Chief Security Technology Officer for BT, conceded:

“The results are enough to scrap the systems completely, and to send the various fingerprint biometric companies packing.”

And get a load of Schneier’s other arguments against the use of biometrics as identification:

Biometrics are unique identifiers, but they are not secrets.” [emphasis added]

“Biometrics are lousy because they are so easy to forge: it’s easy to steal a biometric after the measurement is taken.”

“Once someone steals your biometric, it remains stolen for life; there’s no getting back to a secure situation.”

“Just as you should never use the same password on two different systems, the same encryption key should not be used for two different applications. If my fingerprint is used to start my car, unlock my medical records, and read my email, then it’s not hard to imagine some very bad situations arising.”

Telling it like it is, security expert and Senior Editor of CSO Online, Scott Berinato, explains the simple truth about why cash is king:

“An inconvenient truth for card issuers and merchants is that cash is a lot safer for consumers. It’s anonymous and secure; it’s impervious to power outages and network outages and clerical or computer errors which require hours on service calls to reconcile. Cash is also privacy-friendly, allowing the consumer to complete a transaction at its face value without paying the tax of ceding personal information and exposing oneself to the identity theft pandemic.”

And yet, despite the all the glaringly-obvious problems, the cashless control grid is coming at us like a freight train and biometrics are being aggressively touted as the answer to it all.

Considering the engineered economic collapse that we are currently enduring (which makes a great excuse to implement such an unpopular solution as the cashless society) and the precious few people who are even aware that a collapse is happening, it’s not unreasonable to foresee a near future in which Americans wake up to find their (fiat) dollar gone and a new digital financial system already clamped down around them.

Couple that with the government’s unconscionable emphasis on “domestic terrorism,” it’s also not unreasonable to imagine that Americans might one day be required to swear an oath of allegiance in order to participate in the new financial system.

Make no mistake: This is mark-of-the-beast territory. If cash dies, then digital tyranny will result.

Knowing what we know about the economy and the precarious times ahead, there’s really not much excuse to keep on bowing to banker usary. Chaz Valenza, founder and advocate for the Use Cash Movement, makes the argument that:

“Credit card use, rewards or no rewards, costs an average American family, paying with credit cards or not, between $427 to $600 per year. At $500 a year that’s $59 billion dollars in revenues to Big Banking.”

Valenza also argues persuasively for the efficacy of a credit-card boycott at the grassroots level:

“If a profit center’s annual revenue is $59 billion and their marketing budget is $7 billion, which it is, and it follows that overhead and variable costs are probably 50-60% of sales, it doesn’t take much to destroy their profits. Rough guess: less than $10 billion.”

In her essay, Powerful Reasons to Use Cash, alternative financial consultant, Susan Boskey, details some of the benefits to be reaped from daring to fight the predatory banking system by using cash:

“When we use cash we can:

  • Deprive the banks the opportunity to make money from charging us interest.
  • Deprive the banks from using our deposits.
  • Deprive the banks of service and overdraft charges.
  • Ask for 5% vendor discounts for paying with cash.
  • Send an effective message of dissent and dissatisfaction.
  • End the taboo about talking about our finances and network with others to gain new strategies.
  • Use it as an opportunity to get more educated about money and wealth.
  • Learn fiscal self-discipline.
  • Stop a fantasy-mindset about money.
  • Gain greater peace of mind.
  • Stop going into debt.
  • Pay as we go.
  • Learn to live within our means.”

Or, as Spychips author, Katherine Albrecht, likes to say:

“Cash: use it or lose it.”
